Nicole Brewer Gurganious, a contestant on the Biggest Loser has lost her husband, Damien Gurganious. Her husband passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014.
Nicole and her husband competed together on the second cycle of The Biggest Loser: Couples in January 2009, they were engaged at the time.
She and Damien were eliminated from the show on week three.
They walked down the isle on August 2009, they had lost more than 200 pounds since the beginning of their weighty run on the NBC reality show.
Nicole has paid tribute to her husband on Facebook: “As most of you know, I never post on social media. So, it is highly ironic and deeply sad that my first true post is to inform you of the tragic loss of my beloved husband, Damien Gurganious,” she wrote on the private page.
She informed her husband suffered from the sudden onset of a rare autoimmune disorder, Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), which caused inoperable bleeding in his brain.
Two years ago, Nicole and Damien welcomed their first and only child, daughter, Giselle.
